Declared class is the material making up at least 80% of that component. What each class covers
Cannot be re-soled
The upper is cemented inside a moulded rubber cup. The join is permanent: removing the sole destroys the bottom of the upper. When the tread is worn through, the pair has reached the end of its life. What that means for the guarantee
Three things this pair will do
- Yellowing amarelecimento
- White and undyed cotton yellow faster than leather does, and washing with anything containing bleach or optical brightener drives the yellowing rather than fixing it. Sunlight and heat both accelerate it. Drying in the shade, slowly, is the single thing that helps most.
- Creasing vincos
- Canvas and mesh crease and crumple across the forefoot from the first wear. On textile the folds are softer than on leather but more numerous, and the fabric will not return flat. This is normal wear, not a fault.
- Cleaning limits limites de limpeza
- Mud, dust and most water-based marks come out of the weave with cool water and a soft brush. Oil, grease, ink and dye transfer settle between the yarns and are usually permanent. These shoes must not go in a washing machine: the heat and the drum separate the sole from the upper.
Adding does not open the cart. The count in the header goes up by one.

Everything we measured.
Figures are taken from a size EU 42 unless a range is given, and they are the same figures we hold in production.

- 01
- Engineered polyester mesh, open structure through the quarter and the toe.
- 02
- Air moves through the whole upper, not just a vent panel.

How this pair is cleaned, and what will not come out.
Engineered mesh
- 01Brush dry, gently, with a soft brush only. A stiff brush snags and breaks the mesh filaments.
- 02Wipe with cool water and neutral detergent on a cloth, blotting rather than scrubbing.
- 03Press a dry cloth against both sides to draw the water out of the open structure.
- 04Dry in the shade, stuffed with white paper, away from any heat.
Comes out
- Dust
- Light surface marks
- Most water-based marks caught the same day
Stays
- Anything oily, which coats the filaments on all sides
- Broken or snagged filaments, which cannot be rewoven
- Dye transfer
- Never put these in a washing machine.
- Never use a stiff brush.
- Never wear them in heavy rain and then dry them with heat.
Rubber midsole and outsole
- 01Work a stiff short-bristle brush with foam cleaner along the midsole, not across it.
- 02Run the brush into the join between sole and upper, where the grey collects first.
- 03Wipe the foam off before it dries, or it leaves a tidemark of its own.
- 04For the tread, a brush and plain water is enough. Do not soak the shoe to clean the bottom of it.
Comes out
- Grey street film, which is most of what makes a white midsole look old
- Scuffs from kerbs, mostly
- Marks at the join between sole and upper
Stays
- Yellowing of the rubber itself, which is oxidation through the material rather than dirt on it
- Cuts and gouges in the rubber
- Tar
- Never use acetone or a solvent on rubber: it softens the compound and it attacks the cement at the join.
- Never soak a shoe to clean its sole.
- Never use a whitening product that relies on bleach. It sets the yellow rather than lifting it.
Why the sole is permanent.
A stitched joint can be unpicked and re-made. A bonded one cannot. Both of the constructions we use are bonded, and that is a property of this kind of shoe rather than a shortcut in ours.

A replacement pair of leather-topped insocks. They are a consumable: the insock in a shoe you wear daily is finished long before the shoe is.
